As long as Mindy Effertz works as a therapist here, Mountain Valley Counseling will be a shit hole. She treats her patients like vermin, forcing them to endure psychological torture techniques and threatening them with emotional, physical, and sexual abuse if they don't comply with her every whim. She attempts to force her patients to sever contact with all of their support and if she can't, she starts abusing the patient to try to get their friends and family to never speak to them again, just to make the abuse to their loved one stop. Effertz uses her position as a therapist to force her ideologies on patients, using out-dated social values to dehumanize LGBTQ people under her "care" and try to force them in to a form of conversion therapy. And if anybody speaks out? She starts punishing her patients for the actions of others. She becomes paranoid, violent, and abusive to everybody around her if she feels her reputation is on the line. Which really? Her reputation is always one of "a quack who breaks new patients". Respectable members of the mental health community know her name and know that she gets no real results with her treatment. Patients will say and do anything just to escape her, and when they're free from her grasp, no real change has happened. Mountain Valley Counseling...fire Mindy Effertz. Your company and reputation depend on it.

This place is a hell hole. They don't treat people here, they engage in cyclical therapy, especially under the care of Mindy Effertz. This disgusting person attacks you for being anything other than straight. You gay or bisexual, or god help you transgender? You're never never finishing a therapy cycle. She will do everything she can to put you through conversion therapy and I'm using a VPN right now to leave this review because I am scared for my very life after getting out of there. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMMITTED SUICIDE BECAUSE OF EFFERTZ "TREATMENT"?

The girl that runs the office and greets you at the window is very rude and has a negitive attitude. I find this ironic considering her past issues with drugs, alcohol, and the legal system.

Really depends on who you get in there, but I insure you they play the good guy when the water is hot, then they slide a knife in your back. I actually have a very good counselor there so it is pretty nice, so my experiance is very good, like I said it really depends on who you get. The place has roaches and bathroom stinks don't bring your kids people just start to stare at you. All together I believe it could be a ok place.
