If you as a manager told someone with only one leg that they need to improve their walking ability, you'd be meeting with HR. So why is it acceptable to write a performance review for an autistic person that says "Needs to improve communication."?

I mean, it must still hurt if they're not making the connection between your being autistic and difficulty fulfilling their requirements for your communication. Even if they meant it as 'we want to see you doing more if you can', it's still heavy expectation to conform.
