Actually nothing new. Everyone has to obey to the YPG/PKK rules. All who don't obey are enemies, fascists, totalitarians etc. In reality, the YPG/PKK is just a Kurdish, marxists version of Baathists.

If Turkey manages to convince Russia & deter an assault on Idlib, HTS would become wiped out and the FSA would do what it should have done years ago: To get rid of extremists

At the current situation, the existence of HTS is on one side a major blockage to get Turkish protection but it is also an opportunity to find a solution together with Russia, but until now negotiations couldn’t achieve a compromise.

Interestingly, it was the islamists factions like Jaysh al Islam & Ahrar al Sham over the past 2-3 years who tried to combat Nusra/HTS, but most FSA factions didn’t support those attempts. In Ghouta Feylaq ur Rahman, in Idlib Feylaq us Sham & Free Idlib Army

Over the past 7 years, it was never the right time for the Syrian opposition to go after Nusra/HTS. Nusra/HTS managed to build a hostage situation. However they are one of the main reasons why rebels lost the war.

Rebels are building many defensive fortifications in Idlib. Building fortifications needs manpower and its just illogical that rebels don't use woman & forced conscription and resist to use volunteer men only:

U.S. offered Assad to leave Syria if Iran withdraws from south, report says. Its not without a reason that YPG doesn't trust their patron as much as they did in 2017 and try to negotiate an agreement with the Assad regime without the attendance of the US

Thanks for translating a summary of my latest paper into Turkish. The paper examines how different actors in Syria are dealing with former ISIS members, scrutinises the priorities shaping their actions, and the challenges they are facing in doing so.

No offensive towards Idlib can and will start until Turkey‘s observation points remain. Everything else happening will be an attemp to escalate and enforce Turkey to withdraw its troops
