UPDATE:  There was no flag burning in Tulsa by Paul Tay on Friday and won't be on Saturday, so the alert and Proud Boys advisory are withdrawn.

Paul Tay, a candidate for Tulsa City Council in District 9, is planning to burn the American flag. Tay has planned this action to occur on Friday from 12 noon to 3 pm at the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center, 300 N. Denver Ave, Tulsa. Tay says he “…will burn the American flag to protest Tulsa County Jail 287(g) program. It supports ICE detentions and child separations.”
 

This won't be the first time Tay has played with fire. In 2002 he received a number of bicycle violations and burned them in protest. That same year he campaigned for mayor with a giant inflatable penis. In 2003 Tay racked up a series of charges while fighting Tulsa police where he spewed racist slurs. The next year he was convicted in Oklahoma County for outraging public decency, assault on a police officer, and obstruction of justice. In 2015 he was convicted of petit larceny.
 

Two years ago, while running for Tulsa mayor, Tay, sporting a white cowboy hat, stormed a debate being held at Tulsa Community College angered at not being invited to participate.

There have been social media allegations that Tay has been sending lewd messages to women.

On his Facebook page, Tay says, "My last desperate ditch effort to get more votes! District 9 will TOTALLY love me! Fcuk, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, 'Murica! "

Although Tay may be exercising his First Amendment rights, Tulsans may face the possibility of a counter action that could incite trouble. With Tay’s unstable demeanor and 16-year-long pattern of bizarre and violent behavior he could escalate an encounter with an opposing group.

Oklahoma's energy overlords and top politicians are gathering to raise funds for Florida Gov. Rick Scott's shot at taking a U.S. Senate seat and local activists aren't having it!

The social justice warriors will be gathering Thursday, July 19th - 11 am, at  the corner of Park and Hudson  in Downtown OKC where they'll then hit the Devon Tower in full activist mode.

Reclaiming America For Christ - gay and Muslim hater Paul Blair's group - is having a  Christian Apologetics Workshop with Alex McFarland tomorrow July 14th from  9 am until noon. It's being held at Blair's Fairview Baptist Church @ 1230 North Sooner Road in Edmond, OK

McFarland is the director of the Christian Worldview Center in South Carolina. He was formally with James Dobson's Focus on the Family and helped them spread an anti-gay message, while fighting against same-sex marriage and LGBT adoption.

For the Oklahoma City LGBTQ2 Community The Summer of 2018 has seen a swarm of scandals none more damaging than the allegations that the OKC Pride Inc board president may have embezzled a substantial amount of funds, while the board as a whole failed to safeguard the fiances of the non-profit organization.

Downtown OKC has seen the arrival of a figure likely linked to white supremacy. He is stylized in the Hipster Nazi mode of Richard Spencer and wearing a black t-shirt bearing the words "Defend OKC" with a set of brass knuckles beneath that.
