Because they wanted to. They were angry the con made @DogpatchPress a GOH, and want to throw dirt by screaming “PEDOS” to start a false controversy. It appears to be their MO, considering a month ago people were trying to blackmail the con chairs into disinviting Dogpatch.

The ugly truth is that there will always be people who will twist anything you say in order to further their agenda. Fortunately, as a community, we know better than to believe this malarky.

Honestly PG rated doesn't mean you can't ever swear, drink, or mean nsfw art can't happen. (Censored portfolios were allowed for example) It just means being respectful of shared spaces and being polite. Same as pretty much any con. The idea was including everyone. Come enjoy

Just go back through the last couple hours of Boozy's tweets. The usual suspects are taking Boozy reading stories to kids at a kid-friendly con as "proof" that it's actually a pedo con, making the usual threats, etc. It's actually more even more pathetic than usual.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but they're letting their success in screwing over other cons get to their heads, if they think "bedtime stories are pedophilia" is going to be ammunition against this convention. Going to be fun watching them fail even worse than the usual from them

I think it's tragic that there are people so bitter and full of self-loathing that they, whether truthfully or just for cynical self aggrandizement, need to tear down something pure.

The sad thing is that this form of abuse and harassment is not limited to the furry fandom. I know of people in the leather community that do tremendous things without publicized acknowlegement. They are targetted by these supposed "paragons" in a smear job. Totally baseless. 1/
