I've never really thought of HTS (or even back in the JN days) of having lack of willing attackers, it seems the issued lies more with their lack of capability of producing effective VBIED in larger amount. Agree or disagree?
Talking to a group of gulf Arab brothers, most being in HTS. Asked them about SVBIED for defence of Idleb. Out of 11 of them, only 1 said no to it (due to religious reasons) and that they'd fight for first places.

Fully agree bro. But my point is the way gulf Arabs view it and how they glorify the action. Glorification not found in others, Syrian or other muhajir imo. They want to die taking 20 guys and 2 vehicles & opening way lol. Besides I think they make the best operators hands down.

If you are in SVBIED zone (which most of time where SVBIED hits are dozens of enemies) turns you into pieces with friends incl. and causes moral fear and makes others run. All this done by 1 man with home-made explosive put in car.

Is there a somewhat significant number of fighters refusing to drive SVBIEDs because of religious objections, or is it extremely small?

Nope. Majority are raring to go. Minority put conditions on it like last resort, and an even more minority completely object to it.

As long as they aren't throwing their lives away... But in anycase, Idlib will be decimated from the air, well above svbied or even manpad range.
