Photographer's Note
A short trip to Dooars for three days was so refreshing. The Northern part of West Bengal is always so attractive and so beautiful with rivers, tea plantation, mountains, lash green fields and clear blue sky. This time we were heading for Bindu, the last village in the Indo-Bhutan border. This picture was taken from the door of a moving train-Kanchankanya Express. The place is somewhere near Damdim, after crossing the Teesta river. This is the first time I am going to the dooars by train, my earlier trips were all made by cars. I think both the trips are equally beautiful.
In the return path we took the road journey and noted the name of this river. The name is Chel. You can spot a fisherman catching fish in the distance. It was so dramatic with rain clouds, green fields and the rocky river bed that I could not resist myself from clicking the camera.

Hello Sayan,
Am amazing view of the river bed, apparantly with low water level at the time being!
The dramatic sky adds to the atmosphere, and the tiny fisherman gives good scaling to the landscape!

Hi Sayan,
Wonderfully captured ... I like your POV here. Placing a solitary figure gives the scene some perspective and compliments the overall lonely bleak atmosphere. Well captured and composed. Well done! tfs

Beautiful and very dramatic landscape. Good composition. Heavy sky somehow emphasize how hard life can be and this fragile tiny figure of man clearly show how small we are compared to nature.

fantastic take. typical doars in the rains.
looks great with the light, with the monsoon threatening to pour down. technically good, with proportions, and composition. the lone human gives an idea of the proportions.

Hello Sayan!
If there is some good light, dark skies always compose well the landscape sceneries. Its impressive! The lonely guy walking down there add important life to the picture and makes us think about "where he is going?" and "what he is going to do?" or "where he is coming from?"...
Very nice!

Hi Sayan, just saw this one...north bengal is such a vast expanse..full of beautiful landscapes...mostly unknown to me...i have only heard about it...passed by a few by car once on my way to mirik...
but this is quite exquisite by the looks of it...this is certainly a serene atmosphere you have captured...makes me feel like breaking free from the city chaos really..well done with the fisherman in the frame...gives a sense of proportion...how minuscule human beings are compared to the majesty of nature... :)
Best,

The little silhouette is almost lost in the middle of the immensity of the landscape, the landscape itself is splendid with its heavy sky and its rich colours,
Congratulations ! Your colour photos are also very good !

you didnt listen to me:) Color?!:) Well, ok, your choice;) I still thinl this would look great in bw but in color its fine too. I dont have much to say about the landscape but this: the 10 pixels that make up the human, those are the 10 pixels that make this a compelling shot. Its a very good one Sayan. Love it.

Dear Sayan
Four distinct layers, a dramatic sky, and the low water level in the river...this is a great take. The fisherman, though tiny gives an idea of the scale & also vital to the composition. Blurring of the FG grass (thanks to your thread with Indro….I didn't notice it) has a good effect to show the speed of the train.
Best Wishes

Hi Sayan,
Though it is tough to visualise that the person is engaged in fishing but as a landscape it is a brilliant one with all essential elements of landscape here.
Good one.

Cool shot which ionly works if you open the thumnail! the cold tones are quite atmospheric. This little silhouette, really makes the photo for me, because it defines the instant and scales the photo.
Well done!

Hello Sayan,
The lone human being 0.6 of the way over from the left side appears so small here, but lends perspective to the awesome scale. Also the image resonates with a feeling of moisture-saturation, amplified by existence of the lush greenery and the foreboding clouds. Your note explains well that it tea farms exist in this area. They must require very high humidity, plenty of water, and a very warm climate.
Warm regards,
Bulent
