I believe the next characters announced for Smash Ultimate will be Skull Kid (MM) and Isaac (Golden Sun). Evidence points that way (Tin foil hat moment) plus a gut feeling. We'll see!

Be cool, but Felix is the same type of adept so it'd make more sense for him to be the echo, especially since he's the other protagonist of GBA Golden Sun

I'd argue it's BECAUSE that Felix is the same kind of adept that he would be a costume of Isaac, allowing a different kind of adept to occupy his echo fighter role. Someone who could use ice as if it were plants and water as if it were stone, etc.
