      機会が「開かれている」べきことは同意しますが、定員数がイコールであるべきとまで言えるのでしょうか。例えば、栄養学の資格をとるために、福岡女子大学への入学を希望し、裁判所に訴えていた男性がいましたが、そもそも女子大はなくなるべきだという主張にもなりかねません。それは妥当でしょうか。

      福岡女子大の例では、近隣に栄養学を教える大学がなく、男性が県外に出られないために、栄養士の資格を取るためには福岡女子大に入学するしかない、というケースだったように思います。福岡女子大は女子大学教育を建学の理念としていることから、これを拒否しました。さて、これは差別でしょうか。

      また、これは単なる統計的な事実のみに依拠しているのではなく、妊娠によってキャリア中断する可能性が高いというのは、これは生物学的な差異に基づくものでもあるわけですよね。医師を要請するために投じた社会的コストがその間、ロスされるわけですから、ある種の合理性があるとも言えます。

      いや、実際、女性専用車両ではそれを理由に線引きされているわけですよね。例えば、生物学的差異によって「男は犯罪者だ」とか「女が医師に『なってはいけない』」などというのは、これは明確に差別でしょう。しかし、差異による異なる取扱いの一切を否認することが正しいのでしょうか。

      いいえ。犯罪率と医学部定員の間の合理的関連がないからです。しかし、もしも犯罪率を理由に、女性医師の需要が市場で高まれば、そのような傾斜をする合理性は生まれるかもしれませんね。フェミニストの発言力は無関係です。
