    Incredible descriptions coming out of the meeting between Netanyahu and the Druze leadership. Apparently he stormed out when one of them, a former brigadier-general, told him the Nation-State Law makes Israel an "apartheid state". Won't come back unless they apologize.

    Until now this seems to be best explanation of what went wrong (w/now Ozkan's release from Israeli jail making sense). And, assessment is spot on here. If correct, I am not a bit surprised that Cavusoglu was behind collapse of the deal. Never was good at diplomacy.

    This is extraordinary. Turkey had the gullible tourist paying 10x the real price, and then decided, "Nah, let's make it 12x." …

    Last year when US slapped visa sanctions against Turkey, it almost immediately hit US back w/its own set. This time it seems Turkey--at least for now--seems its taking a different route. Question is when is the tit-for-tat set to begin since both sides do not seem ready to budge.

    Trump's warning of possible sanctions against Turkey--and the speed the first stage was implemented--has taken most by surprise. Trump's latching onto Brunson case has as much to do with his Christian domestic support as it does w/foreign policy. Turkey misread this possibility.
