Hi! Sorry for my bad english. I want to say that americans don't really know anything true about russian politics. Firstly: Putin not a traditional "white guy" — he is a classical communist and KGB agent who using a real leftist methods at his presidential work. Secondly: here in Moscow and other cities we have lots of problems with chechens and other muslim nationalities (also foreigners from Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan etc). Just like swedish and german in their countries. Thirdly: Russia did not destroy any Lenin's statues and we have smth about 200 or 300 statues of a red terrorists all around the county. Fourthly: young people really like right-wing ideas (just like me) and here we have some really cool right magazines like zlyerusskie.com and sputnikipogrom.com
If you are interested in russian language and local rightists you can follow the Telegram channel t.me/zlyerusskie where you can find some cool stuff about Russian Federation.
Also: if you have qustions you can write it in comments and i will answer you.
I know Putin is former KGB. The documentary I watched recently stated that he is very popular right now because he has stabilized the economy. Is this true?
Also, is Aleksandr Dugin an influential figure? What do people think of him?
Yes it's true. Putin really stabilized the economy since 90s and this is why he so popular here.
Dugin does not so influent person as someone saying because his idea about «Eurasian Russia» is very strange. We know how many problems we have with uzbeks, tajiks, kyrgiz, chinese and people of Kavkaz. So all that stuff about «we must live together at the big eurasian world» sounds very wierd nowadays. But yes i expect that very big mass of people heard his name
Glenn Beck (formerly well known radio host) talks about Dugin a lot. I think Beck is trying to scare his listeners that Dugin & Putin are going to bring about the apocalypse. 😄
We don't get much information in the US about Russia. We only get RT news where I live.
Thanks for the information friend!
You are welcome!
I think there's no big problem with Dugin at all:)
привет
Thanks for the Q and A, I definitely have some questions for you:
Would you say your right-wing movement is more or less religious than Russian society in general? Is it generally Orthodox, or irreligious, or folk religion, or a mix?
How do you guys view the Bolshevik Revolution? What about Stalin? Hitler?
Are any of you monarchists? Or do you at least have a fond view of Tsar Nicholas?
Do you support Russian military intervention in Syria - why or why not? What do you think is the optimal outcome?
What do you think of Russian media that is designed for Western consumption, like RT? Is it a good or bad thing? Do you generally agree with their perspective?
Do you guys consume alcohol? Or do you see it as degenerate?
If you could obliterate one country off the face of the earth, which?
Also I was wondering how you would rate the minority ethnicities of the Russian Federation in order of how well you think they are assimilated to Russian society. Are there any of the Muslim minorities that you are cool with?
Привет!
I can say that we have a different people in out movement: 50 or 60% orthodox and other 30% are atheists, other christian confessions or folk religions. I think there many muslims too (!) who can say «i am a right guy». For example: tatars.
We have lots of hate about 1917, bolsheviks, Lenin, Stalin and all another communists. We believe that Russia will be another country if there's no red dirt in our history.
Oh, Hitler. Hitler is just a psycho. 1945 — serious date in calendar for us. My grandfather and grandfathers of ALL my friends and co-workers fought in a WWII. There's millions of families who lost their mothers, fathers and children.
Smth like 70% of us are both monarchists and national-democrats. Tsar and his family was killed by terrorists and criminals. This is horrible to think HOW many good people our country lost because of this civil war. Nowadays here in Russian there ~60% of citizens who really love Lenin and that's isdisgusting. Soviet propaganda made her work.
I will say some strange thing know, please don't be afraid: we have millions of russian people now in «Ukraine» who have a big problem and also there are thousand of dead because of ukranian soldiers in Donetsk, Luhansk and Odessa. And Syria is absolutely wrong priority for Russia. Firstly we should help our people in Donbas and after that make some movements in Syria.
RT — interesting channel. But i don't like it because of their «truth» and propaganda in our country. Sorry i don't now enough about USA RT (and others).
Alcohol? Well that's not a problem for me and all Russians. But yes: we have lots of people who really don't like cigarettes and alco. This movement calls «ЗОЖ» — Здоровый образ жизни (you can google it).
On the other hand, we like to drink some german beer on the Friday night.
There are some big minorities: tatars, bashkirs, chechens and dagestanis. Tatars(4million) and Bashkirs are OK. There are lots of atheists and very very quiet islam. Tatars and Russians are very close to each other.
Chechens are the biggest problem.Their governor Ramzan Kadyrov — ex-terrorist who killed many people in 90's but also he Putin's friend. Also he has his own army just like Black Water. It's hard to think about how exually cold that relations between chechen and all other Russia ethnicities.
Thank you for taking the time to answer all those.
Can I ask for clarification on one thing? It's interesting to learn about your kindred feelings for the Tatars. I had thought that the Crimean Tatars were extremely against Russian annexation of Krim though. Is that true, and if so, what do you think is the reason?
Basically you asked the questions I wanted to know about.
I sincerely hope OP answers at least some of these
