    Even HTS’s Ibaa’ news agency reporting on these evictions and clashes. Says Afrin city is in a state of instability due to assassinations, IEDs, infighting etc, leading to civilian discontent, panic and displacement

    Similar events taking place in Afrin city. Reported clashes between the Military Police and displaced people from Eastern Ghouta living in abandoned/confiscated homes going on near the Kawa roundabout.

    There are ~50 families in the Mabeta/Ma’abetli area that arrived in mid April after displacements in Eastern Ghouta and northern Homs. Unlike the Jandaris or Bulbul areas, there are no recently built IDP camps there meaning these people are living in abandoned/confiscated homes

    This article reports that the event that sparked the protests was a decision by a committee of the LC that asked 5 families from Eastern Ghouta/Homs to leave the houses they’ve claimed because the original inhabitants had returned.
