    Regarding the debate on the killing himself to evade capture, is it allowed within jihadi circles or forbidden: There's a 45 page treatise from 2005 by Salafi Jihadi publishers at-Tibyan Publications (openly available online) arguing that it could be allowed.

    I wonder if this is the same Bara'a al-Shishani that was/is the leader of Jama'at Ahadun Ahad. Any thoughts ?

    Haven't seen much being reported on this but interesting to see ISIS in Western Africa has had a violent split, with the former Wali and his (non-official ISIS) group are now being called khawarij.

    Finally watched the new video. Interestingly includes the first public confirmation of them fighting . The martyr eulogy for commander Abû Fâtima says: "He made the Khawârij of Shekâu and the apostates of Africa drink from the bitter cup." …

    Regarding the claims that senior HTS jurist Abu Abdullah al-Shami, aka Abdul-Rahim Atun has been killed looks a bit dubious. The first claim emerged today at 13:05 while his last post on telegram was at 15:11. Could possibly still be true (someone else posting on his behalf).
