I just learned about the DDLC controversy just now and while I wholeheartedly disagree and against blaming the game (or videogame in general), I'd like to put myself on the perspective of the child's parents/teachers/surrogates/etc...

I also taught parents to look for video game rating system before letting their child play it. Told them to tell the child that it's just a video game. Lastly told them to be more open and tolerant to her interest, because it'll make her trust them and more open to them.
