the problem isnt with people being grossed out by people dressing in footie pjs and eating fruit snacks, thats perfectly harmless. its when people are getting off on the idea of being a toddler wetting their diaper that has people raising eyebrows.

The people driving this discourse don’t seem too concerned with whether or not people sexualize it. They just go after anything babyfur-related, they don’t care whether they’re harassing a trauma survivor trying to use regression therapeutically, or someone who gets off on it

the babyfur community is plagued by people sexualizing child-like things which is why theres such a high stigma. there are furry communities out there dedicated to completely sfw regression, but the babyfur community isnt a good place to looks seeking comfort

I agree with this, babyfur as a community is fraught with serious problems, but for a lot of people it’s the only place they have. The wider ABDL community is often even more heavily sexualized

Sorry but I’m just not down w “you’re trying to use this to heal from trauma? too bad. there’s some bad people mixed in there, so you can’t have it, you nasty pedophile” Why can’t ppl try to create a better alternative instead of going out and telling babyfurs to kill themselves

im more concerned with it causing more actual harm to survivors, talking to abusers/goomers and people who are sexualizing children isnt really going to help much. babyfur and ageplay isn't that great a coping mechanism when theres kidcore and other non sexual age reg commuties

I am with you on seeking alternatives. But asking other survivors to cut themselves off from the only community that‘s shown acceptance to an extremely vulnerable part of themselves, on a gamble that they might find some likeminded people somewhere else, is a very very tall order

The thing is you’re right, these are the needed alternatives to a community that fails to reject CP and abusive people. But I just think it’s unfair/unrealistic to say “well if you’re still a babyfur when [other community] exists, then you MUST be a pedophile/ pedo sympathizer”
