Hopefully Argentina players are that slow in bed too. At least they can make someone happy that way.

i can't care less what Ozturk says or thinks, a man of no calibre. But he is the deputy leader to CHP, a member of parliament & was among the possible CHP candidates for presidency. This's the party that is sold to international audience as the 'progressive secular opposition'.

Ozturk Yilmaz, Turkish MP from CHP, you may remember him from being captured by ISIS in Mosul in 2014 when a Turkish consul general, criticises AKP for turning Turkey into a 'refugee garbage dump'! He claims Europe is taking 'quality refugees' and leaving 'the rest' to Turkey.

US foreign policy has not been the most human in the past but never it has ever been so inhuman and empowering to dictators. The US foreign policy for Middle East is: As long as your not an Islamist or pro-Iran, kill and destroy as much as you like, we forgive and forget

What makes Trump's job easier and covers his Putin-loving ass is the fact that US's two big regional allies Israel and Saudi Arabia have the same exact position on Syria. Their number one regional priority is countering iran and have no essential problem with Assad.

Trump's turning 'Iran withdrawal from Syria' into his number one priority for the summit with Putin means the following: 1 US is fine w/ Assad. 2 US is fine w/ Russian presence/support 4 Assad 3 Fighting Iran is more important than saving Syrian lives. 4 Syrians can go to hell

Today seems like the right time to do a thread I've been thinking about for a while on how to handle the seemingly never-ending deluge of depressing and disturbing news. My tips are based on my time as a CIA military analyst in which I dealt daily with disturbing content. (1/)

Although ‘one man rule’ concerns dominate the ill-informed media about Turkey, the more dangerous scenario is one where Erdogan gives in to MHP demands under pressure from opposition. That will be the real disaster.

Bahçeli’s cringy demands & our of the blue requests in public are an attempt to show that he is not Erdogan’s puppet. He will do more of these especially after AKP losing majority & MHP’s getting a surprisingly good percentage of votes.

Sooner or later Erdogan will have to show Bahçeli who is the boss and that MHP is not indispensable. But the sooner the better.

"The democratic system requires an advanced degree of sophistication among the masses practicing it. The people must know the limits of freedom if anarchy is to be avoided. Only a vague boundary separates the exercise of freedom and the exercise of anarchy", Dr M - 1992

" When one tries to adjust to a democratic system according to one’s social characteristics, it is advisable to do so slowly. Slow change is always superior to sudden change. Slow change too generates some disturbances, but time is available to make adjustments." Dr M - 2004

The following thread contains some very interesting ideas about democracy and governance by Dr Mahathir Mohammed. These ideas were uttered long before the crisis of democracy of our day. Regardless of what you think of him, he is certainly more worthy of our time than Trump.

Turkey is only one classic example of this trend, this BBC report from last week captures the above problem in another ‘surprise place’ : Egypt
