    Highly unlikely. It's just a similar name. The two groups are way too different. Of course, it's possible some members of the earlier group joined the current one, but there's no evidence of that yet.

    I find it almost inconceivable they would be operating Independent of in to be honest. But Sol is very well sourced & clearly there are reasons to believe the group was more aligned with Rojava Peshmerga etc than historically.…

    There was also the Syriac Youth Coordination. Just as Assyrian Youth Coordination was very close to Assyrian Democratic Organization, the Syriac Youth Coordination was very close to the Syriac Union Party, basically its youth wing:
