USA always supported YPG as a destabilising force for the ME. This directly increases American influence. What was surprising was that Turkey did not realise the consequences of allowing USA to become active in Syria and Turkish border region.
Ceasefire regime in Northern Syria is holding because Turkey has her skin in the game. Whereas in Deraa or southern Syria, US doesn’t want to protect the opposition, even aghast at Israel. Apparently US is more invested in protecting YPG
