    Because usually the tarbiya of Syrians in Turkey is that from the regime. Though the racists probably aren't much better.

    Hostility towards Syrians in Turkey extremely high, which is why some of the 30,000 who are eligible to vote (naturalized citizens) are too scared to be seen at the ballot.
