    The Syrian regime's prisons are a vast network of concentration camps, where torture and murder are endemic. Despite the solid evidence, it's unlikely justice will ever be done, certainly not by an international court.

    Very hot takes on the basis of what I'm seeing so far. 1: Partisan voting > alliance voting. Very few votes for either alliance. 2: Most of what I see so far is urban--remarkable level of "solidarity votes" for HDP 3: Aksener surprisingly strong in Aegean and Mediterranean.

    If there is any one way to help draw decisively away from and the pro-regime camp, it would be an offensive that threatens to push two million people across the border. And, of course, the regime coalition doesn't have the troops for such a venture.

    Whether this specific case turns out to be true or not, this was expected to be a serious problem for the rebels in the south: our foolish decision to demoralise and deplete them left them open to the regime, which has honeycombed the area with spies.
