This case unfortunately has a perfect combination of extreme emergency, panic, language difficulties, chaotic life events/circumstances, persecution, politics, trolls, and general morons. Alas, some LGBTs there readily doubted it, or were fixated on erroneous views of Indonesia.

I think I've understood the situation quite well, as none of this was particularly surprising. Obviously you didn't do all this for attention, but you've gotten it, and it's an opportunity you perhaps shouldn't let by. Seize the moment. Spread the word.
