Hi, Micah Redding. Thank you for your interview with Ilia Delio. For those who would like the proof (i.e., mathematical theorem) of God's existence per the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics), see my following article on physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology, of which article also addresses the societal implications of the Omega Point cosmology and details how it uniquely conforms to, and precisely matches, the cosmology described in the New Testament: James Redford, "The Physics of God and the Quantum Gravity Theory of Everything", Social Science Research Network (SSRN), Sept. 10, 2012 (orig. pub. Dec. 19, 2011), 186 pp., doi:10.2139/ssrn.1974708, https://archive.org/downloa... . This article further concerns the Feynman-DeWitt-Weinberg quantum gravity/Standard Model Theory of Everything (TOE), which is also required by said known physical laws. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals.
Cat got your tongue, Bim Sherwood? Not even a word. Telling.
That's what the entirety of empirical science is, Niels Holst: noticing correspondences between observed phenomena and explaining them with a causal theory that matches observations.
Your error, Holst, is that you are taking for granted that Christianity is false. You are taking for granted that the Messiah, Yeshua, did not resurrect Himself from death; that He does not have power over life and death.
Your extreme skepticism on this issue is unwarranted. God's existence is a mathematical theorem within standard physics, i.e., the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics). And the aforesaid known physical laws allow for God to perform miracles via the Principle of Least Action. Further, standard physics tells us that God exists as a Trinity: the Final Singularity (i.e., the Omega Point), the All-Presents Singularity (which exists at all times at the edge of the multiverse), and the Initial Singularity (i.e., the beginning of the Big Bang). These three distinct aspects to which perform different physical functions in bringing about and sustaining existence are actually one singularity which connects the entirety of the multiverse: the Cosmological Singularity, of which consists eternally of three hypostases in a homoousian triune, i.e., three distinct entities of the same substance (ousia).
Christian theology is therefore preferentially selected by the known laws of physics due to the fundamentally triune structure of the Cosmological Singularity (which has all the haecceities claimed for God in the major religions) within the Omega Point cosmology, which is deselective of all other major religions. And given God's ability to perform miracles, it is perfectly allowed within standard physics for God to Incarnate and resurrect Himself in order to save the world. Indeed, we should actually expect such an event to occur within human history in order to give mankind knowledge of God in enough degree so as to give them confidence in the human project as the Jaynesian gods of old grew ever-more silent; to impart a conception of God as omnibenevolent and rational as opposed to the ever-bickering and insane Jaynesian gods, hence encouraging the systematic study into the physical world as a world that ultimately makes sense; to imbue a necessary social ethic upon mankind in enough degree so that mankind could rise up and create societies leading to our present technological time; and to give mankind the promise of immortality and salvation, thereby again giving humans assurance in the human endeavor as the old Jaynesian gods went silent.

Regarding the Christ myth theory, virtually all the items which the Christ myth theorists claim as facts which show the parallels of Christianity with earlier pagan religions are completely fabricated modern claims that can't be found in the historical record. You speak in empty slogans, Niels Holst, such as with your "dogma" platitude. It provides no useful, actionable information. If the Omega Point Theorem is a false theorem, then simply provide the disproof to it.
Hi, Niels Holst. Reality isn't predicated on what you fail to see. The point of that quote from my "Physics of God" article is that physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology--of which is logically required by the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics)--uniquely conforms to, and precisely matches, the cosmology described in the New Testament. The two different resurrection events is just one of many such examples of this that I detail throughout my said article.
You go on to state, "Besides you neglect the obvious: There could be no good explanation." Prof. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology is the explanation. The aforesaid known physical laws have been confirmed by every experiment to date. Hence, the only way to avoid the Omega Point Theorem is to reject empirical science. As Prof. Stephen Hawking wrote, "one cannot really argue with a mathematical theorem." (From p. 67 of Stephen Hawking, The Illustrated A Brief History of Time [New York, NY: Bantam Books, 1996; 1st ed., 1988].)
In consentaneity with Scott Adams's above February 11, 1996 Dilbert comic strip, physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology, which has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals, is a proof (i.e., mathematical theorem) demonstrating that sapient life (in the form of, e.g., immortal superintelligent human-mind computer-uploads and artificial intelligences) is required by the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics) to take control over all matter in the universe, for said life to eventually force the collapse of the universe, and for the computational resources of the universe (in terms of both processor speed and memory space) to diverge to infinity as the universe collapses into a final singularity, termed the Omega Point. Said Omega Point cosmology is also an intrinsic component of the Feynman-DeWitt-Weinberg quantum gravity/Standard Model Theory of Everything (TOE) correctly describing and unifying all the forces in physics, of which TOE is itself mathematically forced by the aforesaid known physical laws. For the details on that, see my following article, which also addresses the societal implications of the foregoing: James Redford, "The Physics of God and the Quantum Gravity Theory of Everything", Social Science Research Network (SSRN), Sept. 10, 2012 (orig. pub. Dec. 19, 2011), 186 pp., doi:10.2139/ssrn.1974708, https://archive.org/downloa... .
At 34:24 min:sec into this interview, the discussion turns to physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler. Physicist Prof. Lawrence M. Krauss incorrectly states that he destroyed Tipler in a debate. However, Krauss's rebuttals to Tipler in that debate consisted of irrelevant arguments and bare assertions. One can view a video of this 2007 debate in the following resource, wherein I also give commentary on it:
* James Redford, "Video of Profs. Frank Tipler and Lawrence Krauss's Debate at Caltech: Can Physics Prove God and Christianity?", alt.sci.astro, Message-ID: jghev8tcbv02b6vn3uiq8jmelp7jijluqk[at sign]4ax[period]com , July 30, 2013, https://groups.google.com/f... , https://archive.is/a04w9 .
Prof. Krauss is a particle physicist. Whereas Prof. Tipler is not only an expert in quantum field theory (i.e., Quantum Mechanics combined with special-relativistic particle physics) but also an expert in Global General Relativity and computer theory. Global General Relativity (which is General Relativity applied on the scale of the universe as a whole) is the field created by Profs. Roger Penrose and Stephen Hawking during the formulation of their Singularity Theorems, and it is the most elite and rarefied field of physics.
Prof. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology is a mathematical theorem per the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics), of which have been confirmed by every experiment to date.
Prof. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals. Said Omega Point cosmology is also an intrinsic component of the Feynman-DeWitt-Weinberg quantum gravity/Standard Model Theory of Everything (TOE) correctly describing and unifying all the forces in physics, of which TOE is itself logically forced by the aforesaid known physical laws.
The Omega Point final singularity has all the unique properties (quiddities) claimed for God in the traditional religions. For much more on Prof. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology and the details on how it uniquely conforms to, and precisely matches, the cosmology described in the New Testament, see my following article, which also addresses the societal implications of the Omega Point cosmology:

I thank Prof. Marcia Bartusiak for her present review of Peter Watson's book Convergence. Although she states that physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology (i.e., his "views on the 'physics of immortality.'") is "not yet ready for prime time". However, it is a mathematical theorem per the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics), of which have been confirmed by every experiment to date. Hence, the only way to avoid the Omega Point Theorem is to reject empirical science. As Prof. Stephen Hawking wrote, "one cannot really argue with a mathematical theorem." (From p. 67 of Stephen Hawking, The Illustrated A Brief History of Time [New York, NY: Bantam Books, 1996; 1st ed., 1988].) Hi, Prof. James F. McGrath. One can go prior to Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, as the concept of man being gods and becoming ever-more Godlike is simply traditional Christianity, going all the way back to Jesus's teachings (e.g., see John 10:34), that of Paul and the other Epistlers, and that of the Church Fathers. In traditional Christian theology, this is known as apotheosis, theosis or divinization. For many examples of these early teachings, see the article "Divinization (Christian)", Wikipedia, Aug. 7, 2016. Though this traditional position of Christian theology has been deemphasized for the last millennium.
Indeed, the words "transhuman" and "superhuman" originated in Christian theology. "Transhuman" is a neologism coined by Dante Alighieri in his 1320 work Divine Comedy (Paradiso, Canto I, lines 70-72), referring favorably to a mortal human who became an immortal god by means of eating a special plant. For the Christian theological origin of the term "superhuman", see the Oxford English Dictionary (2nd ed.), the first appearance being by Henry Montagu, 1st Earl of Manchester, in his Al Mondo: Contemplatio Mortis, & Immortalitatis (London, England: Robert Barker, and the Assignes of John Bill, 1636).
Lysander Spooner in his essay The Deist's Immortality (Boston: 1834) also describes this concept of man becoming God.
Edgar Allan Poe, in his book Edgar A. Poe, Eureka: A Prose Poem (New York: Geo. P. Putnam, 1848), basically gives a description of the Omega Point cosmology in its Tiplerian sense: of the universe starting at a "primordial particle" (i.e., an atom in the ancient Greek sense of indivisible unity), then expanding and evolving, and then collapsing into Godhead and unity. Poe considered this nonfiction book to be his magnum opus. I wonder if Teilhard was influenced by Poe, since Poe was very popular in France.
Charles Sanders Peirce, in C. S. Peirce, "A Neglected Argument for the Reality of God", Hibbert Journal, Vol. 7 (Oct. 1908-July 1909), pp. 90-112, also presents the concept of an evolving God.
What physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler has done is to make the foregoing mathematically and physically rigorous, as his Omega Point cosmology is a proof (i.e., mathematical theorem) per the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics) demonstrating that the universe must end in the Omega Point: the final cosmological singularity and state of infinite informational capacity having all the unique properties traditionally claimed for God, and of which is a different aspect of the Big Bang initial singularity, i.e., the first cause. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals. I very much look forward to your essay, Mr. Prisco.
Regarding the existence of sapient extraterrestrials, per Prof. Frank J. Tipler's below paper (see especially p. 147, or p. 8 of the arXiv version), they do exist, but roughly one every Hubble volume. Thus, we are only likely to make contact with such during the collapse phase of the universe.

I thank Giulio Prisco and Micah Redding for their interview with physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler. For those who would like more information on Tipler's Omega Point cosmology, which is a proof (i.e., mathematical theorem) demonstrating that sapient life (in the form of, e.g., immortal superintelligent human-mind computer-uploads and artificial intelligences) is required by the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics) to take control over all matter in the universe, for said life to eventually force the collapse of the universe, and for the computational resources of the universe (in terms of both processor speed and memory space) to diverge to infinity as the universe collapses into a final singularity, termed the Omega Point, see my following article, which also addresses the societal implications of the Omega Point cosmology:

Said Omega Point cosmology is also an intrinsic component of the Feynman-DeWitt-Weinberg quantum gravity/Standard Model Theory of Everything (TOE) correctly describing and unifying all the forces in physics, of which TOE is itself mathematically forced by the aforesaid known physical laws. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals.
I first heard of the New York City Junto, founded by Victor Niederhoffer, when doing research on physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler, whose proof (i.e., mathematical theorem) on the existence of God per the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics) has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals. He gave a January 1997 lecture for the Junto entitled "The Physics of Immortality: There is No Limit to Progress". Tipler is himself a classical liberal somewhat in the Hayekian mold.
In the audio of the December 3, 2015 debate for the Junto between Michael Malice and Thomas E. Woods, Jr., Malice a number of times mentions the 9/11 attacks as a justification for a government along a Hamiltonian line. For irrefragable physicochemical proof that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job by the US government--i.e., via the use of large quantities of thermite in the case of the collapse of the three destroyed World Trade Center towers--see pp. 75-84 of my following article:

My foregoing article pertains to Prof. Tipler's aforesaid proof of God's existence, termed the Omega Point cosmology, and the Feynman-DeWitt-Weinberg quantum gravity/Standard Model Theory of Everything (TOE) describing and unifying all the forces in physics. The article also addresses the societal implications of the Omega Point cosmology.
I agree that Woods won the debate with Malice. I thank Woods for making the recording of it available.

Hi, Giulio Prisco. Muhammad and Buddha cannot resurrect themselves from death, whereas the Messiah can.
Medieval Christianity correctly understood Islam to be a Christian heresy, since it is a syncretism between Judaism and Christianity. Islam, unlike Judaism, is a universalist religion; it recognizes Yeshua as the Messiah, but rejects that Yeshua was the incarnation of the Second Person of the Trinity; and it seeks to preserve the primitivism of the Torah laws. Further, Muhammad himself was a warlord who converted people to Islam by force.
Few Jews contemplate the great extent that modern Judaism and Jewish culture have been Christianized. No one alive today actually believes in much of the Torah laws: Jews least of all. What makes most strains of Islam so objectionable to people who do not ascribe to them is the primitivism of its Torah-like religious laws combined with its universalism. If Jews still believed in the Torah laws and were universalists, then they would be every bit as objectionable, and for the same reason.
Buddha appears to have been something of a nihilist.
Which isn't to say that there isn't a common core among these religions/philosophies. It's just that Christianity is objectively correct so far as can be rationally known, and to the extent that other religions/philosophies contradict it, to that extent they are incorrect.
