Also @elonmusk : what can you tell us about the Tesla Factory 2.0 tent facility currently under construction in Fremont? When will it be online? What will it produce? Why build a factory in a tent rather than conventional facility? Thanks.

So when will the Tesla Factory 2.0 be online? Will the tent facility be replaced by a conventional facility?
-
Nope it's all tents from here on
-
Mars prep, I like it.

Will this technique be repeated or is it a temporary solution to get to 5k. Also, is this set up like the new line from Germany?
-
Not sure we actually need a building. This tent is pretty sweet. Tesla Grohmann line is in place at Giga & spooling up now. They super kicked ass too. Heiliger Strohsack!
-
Is that tent climate controlled?
-
Not a difficult climate to control in the Bay Area.
-
It gets hot in the summer in Fremont CA...production manufacturing equipment needs good climate controls...at least some of it does, also sounds terrible for employees that have to work in there.
-
It’s actually way better than the factory building. More comfortable & a great view of the mountains.
-
We call them the East Bay hills around here, Elon.
-
Let me know next time you’re in town, we can go hiking somewhere in

I don't fully understand how something that has taken them 2 years to build can be replicated in a tent in 2 weeks. Don't they need another set of robots, etc. for a new assembly line? Elon makes it sound like something they decided to do at the beginning of June...
-
It had to be engineered to start... rinse and repeat is much quicker.
-
Also i guess this is the last part of the assembly?

Does the new assembly line that is in the TENT re-use the "Magic Carpet"?
-
Good question! It does sort of look like that in the released pic.

So GA1 is the S/X line, GA2 & GA3 are the existing slow/not so great Model 3 lines and this new line is GA4?
