  4. but is right about Putin's motives: To stay in power, he needs to destabilize democracy and especially the EU. The young people waving EU flags on the Maidan in Kyiv were his worst nightmare. Doesn't want to see them in Red square.

  5. Not quite. Russian efforts to destabilize the West only work by amplifying existing Western problems: polarization, loss of trust, social media platforms which were created to enable advertising campaigns
