Grenell has just created a huge headache for US Assistant Secretary of State Wess Mitchell. This will heighten tensions between the Bolton and Pompeo wings on n the Trump administration

Bombshell interview to Breitbart by Ric Grenell, US Ambassador to Germany. He says he will personally intervene in internal politics of Europe to empower anti-establishment conservatives. Directly contradicts State Dept line that Trump admin is neutral

The naivety and strategic weakness of Trump on China never ceases to amaze.

My own research is in line with what Josh says here. Japan is alarmed and perplexed by the Trump administration's North Korea diplomacy. Vital that Congress steps up to prevent a bad deal.

One of the big questions about Pompeo and Bolton was whether they could get a waiver to bring in NeverTrump Republicans into State and the NSC. It looks like the answer was no, at least for Bolton. Creates huge problems on staffing.

The problem w/this is not that it would be an early "concession." The point is that it would give up ENORMOUS leverage while leaving that annoying issue of nukes to be worked out later... Hard to think of worse negotiating approach. But will allow Trump to declare an empty win.

A journalist should ask if any deal with North Korea will be in the form of a treaty, as he has argued for in the case of deals with Iran.

Of all the dangers we face, by far the worst is the prospect of a new financial crisis. The Trump administration is singularly ill-prepared and unfit to deal with it.

To all those replying this is Monday Morning Quarterbacking or 20/20, Obama overruled senior officials in his own administration who recommended a more robust response to Putin. Documented in 's fine book.

Obama's refusal to acknowledge he erred in failing to respond more assertively to Russian interference is infuriating. Mitch McConnell is not a valid excuse-- he should not have a veto over US national security policy.
