    Haven't read it but remember reading a couple of things where people were discussing how the QI version looked to be clear MTL with terms and names being misplaced or changed consistently. So considering how many novels I have to potentially read I don't feel a need to read that version even if I am currently catching up to the current release (started maybe 3 months ago while mostly keeping up with other stuff I'm reading).

    Be interested if anyone who read the QI version could comment on the quality of it.


    Also the clickbait title of "ruin" HJC is hilarious in the fact that it's not some amazing novel here with overarching themes or even foreshadowing for more than the big bad. It's a decent novel with a hell of a lot of plot holes.

    what you quoted wasn't from this thread right? deaths in the family are hard. sometimes real hard. I would really feel bad if I had cracked trolly jokes in a thread where he commented about that.

    I'm a whee confused I think ren posted that announcement a week ago not a month ago, and he did say it'd take 2-3 months so tbh it doesn't sound like they broke their promise at all..

    Edit: oops just checked looks like 2 months ago wow i have terrible memory. But still they got a month yeah

    But somehow I was hoping WW would pull out as top dog in the race, but I still appreciate all of their great Translation work and don't want them to feel like their translation work was wasted/worthless just because they weren't the fastest and didn't make their promise.
    Regardless of setback I just hope they keep up the great work!

    If they still intend to complete it regardless of what QI has done, then sure.

    I don't know man, they seems eager to compete back then, but gone all of the sudden.

    Whew. I saw the title and thought WW's collaborative translating had left some kind of flaws in the translation. ... They only did that because of Qidian's provocation, and, in principle, having multiple translators work on the same project is inherently worse than leaving it to a single person. For consistency in writing style and quality, essentially.

    Glad it was just clickbait.

    @rwxwuxiaworld said fairly recently that there was a death in his family and he intends to return to working on HJC relatively soon.

    That said, I'd honestly prefer if they all just backed off and let Zen slowly finish it himself, because I am more than willing to wait for a quality translation even if it takes another year. I'd hate to see WuxiaWorld pressured into pushing out low quality work to appease people who, to be blunt, should just go read Qidian's mess and be happy they got what they wanted.

    Just reminder that QI just "continued" the translation not the one who started it.

    The majority of the chapters was taken from WW

    So yeah I guess I'm more put my respect to WW that willing to promise to finish their translation
