This will lead to the privatization of Veterans Affairs. This should not be voted on until we have a Secretary of Veterans Affairs confirmed. One is not even appointed. I'm a veteran and I oppose this bill.
-
House votes to expand veterans' access to private care. This will bleed the VA of funding. He cares so little about the department he can't even nominate someone to run it.https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/16/politics/va-choice-veterans-vote-house/index.html …

And yes it does have great pieces added to it like caregiver provisions but just like every other bill in D.C., its all or nothing. We can't afford to lose the VA.
-
Does anyone remember BRAC? That is part of this also. The Mission Act will launch a review of VA facilities with an eye toward closing under-performing institutions.
-
You don't have to agree with me. I'm only stating my opinion and reasons why I don't support the Mission Act. As someone who uses the VA I don't believe adding funds to and expanding CHOICE while conducting a facility realignment and closure program helps Veterans Affairs.

You can read the bill like I did here. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/5674/text …

I'm not lying about the BRAC piece either. Its the "VA Asset and Infrastructure Review Act of 2018" It establishes an "Asset and Infrastructure Review Commission". This will lead to VA facility closures and more vets moving to private care.pic.twitter.com/WK8h8X84eC

President Trump, unlike Obama, cares more about our veterans than he does the well-being of Islamic terrorists

Under Obama, members of our military were treated like second-class citizens
