4 everyone sayin this has nothing to do with kpop: Ed Sheeran is kinda big in Korea/Asia for his music, despite being a westerner. He even got a Korean prize for Shape of you etc. so you could imagine why netizens would be upset when he uses a flag that symbolizes+

+ Korea's colonisation and oppression by the Japanese in the 20th century ... of course you could debate it's not relevant bc he's neither a Korean nor does he make kpop music but it's still a shame people use that flag w/o even knowing how hurtful it is for Asian countries

+I wanna add that the flag is a sensitive topic not only in Korea but in many Asian countries (China etc) that suffered from Japanese war crimes back in WW2 etc. you can read more on the issue by googling it and correct me if I'm wrong I'm still studying Asian historics

That post wasn't meant to be directed specifically at Koreans. He has worldwide audience, it is for everyone. Geez ....

If the post was meant for his worldwide audience why did he include a flag that's a sensitive issue all over Asia? He might as well have put a Nazi flag behind him that's how bad this picture comes across for a majority of Asian countries and it's just a nogo to use such symbols
