First launched in October of 2016, the Kickstarter campaign to fund a much-publicized collaborative project between popular erotica author Chuck Tingle and Twine Game Developer Zoe Quinn successfully raised over $85,000 from 2,450 separate backers. The project, described as a blend of FMV (Full Motion Video) dating sim and classic adventure game, had an advertised delivery date of February 2017. As of January 2018, neither the game nor many of the individual backer rewards have been delivered.
During the initial three week fundraising campaign, between October and November of 2016, a total of eight separate updates were posted by the project’s creators. In contrast, and despite being months overdue, the latter six months of 2017 would produce only two updates, posted in July and August of that year.
In response to negative comments and criminal allegations made by concerned backers in December of 2017, project creators broke five months of radio silence to announce that an update would be posted “in the new year”. The update, posted January 1st, 2018, informed backers that the project’s scope had expanded from the originally advertised PC/Mac release and would now be developed simultaneously for mobile devices.
As of writing, nearly a full year from the project’s estimated delivery date, no new estimated delievery date has been announced.
