    The new army chief Gen Mark Carleton-Smith served as a troop, & Squadron commander in UKSF, then CO 22 SAS 2003-5, later Dir Special Forces. He’s always been out & proud about it - eg wearing SAS belt in photo below

    The newly-minted 'combat advisor teams' of the 1st SFAB that deployed to Afghanistan have yet to link up with the Afghan units they are supposed to be advising. I wonder how much preparation did in anticipation of their arrival?

    This is completely pointless. Taliban capture this “strategic” remote district. 3 days later government takes it back with US air power. How many families lost fathers, sons for this? The time for a ceasefire and talks is now.
