    Note - Most of the locations struck this evening by are not Iranian, they are Syrian military locations or bases or air defense battalions. Locations with the heaviest Iranian presence weren't even targeted.

    In the last 48 hours the Quds Force has had to reckon with a more restricted budget for 2018 and Putin’s refusal to save them from Israeli attack. Tonight’s event are an ominous foretaste of things to come, but Iran has a lot to lose in Syria. Soleimani knows it.
