  2. Israel allows the marketing of strawberries to the West Bank but not to Israel. Israel allows the marketing of 450 tons of eggplant and tomatoes to Israel per month. Would any additional ton cause a security problem?

  3. All goods & people leaving Gaza undergo security clearances. Preventing this exit of laborers and goods is not about security. For example, Israel allows marketing of sweet potatoes to the West Bank but not potatoes. Are potatoes inherently more dangerous?

  4. Israel can start allowing Gaza traders to sell more of their goods in Israel and the West Bank. This will be a great boost to the blockaded economy. Currently, Israel prevents most goods produced in Gaza from being marketed to Israel & West Bank.

  5. A move that would have immediate positive effect is letting Gaza laborers work in Israel. Reliable source told me that a list of Palestinians who've previously worked in Israel received security clearance, yet no move has been made for over 2 years due to political considerations

  6. The problem with Gaza is political cowardice. After demonizing the Palestinians & Gazans in particular, Israeli officials worry about a right-wing backlash if they undertake any significant move to ease the blockade. (See what happened w/ the UNHCR refugee plan)

So many tell us same thing. Elderly man told me- "I listen to the youth talk- if borders were open, they wld all leave" Narrative frm Israel is that 1000s at fence are threatening Israeli lives.. Reality; Most people just want to work, afford 2 feed their kids & pay rent

Once again, countless tents with refugees sleeping in dire conditions, in and outside Moria. Severe overcrowding, unsafe & unhygienic conditions are the stories we heard today again and again. This needs to stop.

  21. The IDF assesses the state of Gaza's infrastructure to be extremely grave, but is not using the terminology "humanitarian crisis" due to the opposition of the hawkish Defense Minister Lieberman to the use of this phrase.
