I think the implication is that big tech companies should encourage their employees to date and form healthy relationships. Happy employees are productive employees. And employees who start families are more motivated to stick around.
-
is that actually the implication though
-
it could be if you wave a magic wand

China is experimenting with a possible solution:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3208366/Programming-cheerleaders-hired-motivate-Chinese-employees.html …
-
This would also present an opportunity to solve a problem that's long been plaguing Silicon Valley: balance their employment more evenly between men and women.
-
Haha shit that'd be a messed up way to balance it though, male engineers and female eye candy
-
Not just eyecandy... Nice colleagues who one day could make many nice wives...

Here's a great idea. Let's take a group of men who feel marginalized by society, then--because a subset of them are toxic and misogynistic--isolate them and treat them as a social disease. That won't make the problem worse at all.
-
Yeah, their views and expressions of anger/misogyny should not be normalized or allowed. But, many of these men on the alt-right/incel spectrum are open and wanting to be back in the mainstream of society. They need therapy, not further marginalization.
-
Their views and expressions of anger should not be normalized: agreed. Should not be allowed? Completely disagree. Opinions and expressions are free and must remain free.
-
I phrased it poorly. I don't mean they should be fired or arrested. I just meant it shouldn't be normalized or defended when they act in very harmful ways. But, as someone who has felt the same bitterness they have, I can relate. Unfortunately, they blamed all of society.
-
this is stereotyping. incel just means involuntary celibate and is no broader than that, you don't have to be bitter and anti-social to be bad at the dating game
-
I'm bad at the dating game. You don't see me writing manifestos and killing women like Elliot Rodgers. Lots of people have romantic/social struggles. Most people, unlike them, don't project it in violent ways.
-
I'd imagine that most people who can't get laid don't talk about it at all. This tweet is moronic.
-
That's because they don't talk in self-reflective terms like that. It's abundantly clear when someone is making that point though -- the resentment, the misogyny, etc.
