So, here it is, my latest project: on the internal system of the communes in Rojava, based on TEV-DEM documents which have not otherwise appeared online. Includes structure, election cycles, gender roles, means of decision-making etc. http://www.aymennjawad.org/2018/04/the-internal-system-of-the-communes-in-rojava … #Syria

As a note: if you would like some larger copies of the pages email me. I realise they come out rather small on the website.

After reading the first paragraph & skimming the essay, I think this is going to be self-defeating - one thing these commune essays are most likely to do is encourage even further ideological romanticism. This is like the Kibbutzim reborn, the New Kurdish Zion.

In fact I can give you advice on improving your marketing. If instead of titling it "The Internal System of the Communes in Rojava," you'd entitled it "The New Kurdish Zion," a lot more people would read it & you'd be soon doing the TV talk show rounds.

haha this reminds me of the soviet constitution of 1936 touted as the most democratic and progressive one of them all

"This idea has certainly been implemented in reality" as he says of the gender component.

Right, and it's all under the thumb of Ocalan, who probably isn't alive.

What local stuff? Distribution of power between men, women and minorities? Projects for agriculture and small businesses? Just because its based on Ocalan ideology doesnt mean that PKK is running things. As for power sharing, they are more democratic than Iraq or Egypt for exampl
