    This is at least the second political arrest by the PYD of its Kurdish opponents in Qamishli over the past 2 weeks. On April 2, PYD police arrested Faysal Yousif, the General Coordinator of the Kurdish Reform Movement, another opposition party. Yousif is still in detention.

    The PYD (ruling party of Rojava) arrested Naamat Daoud today from his home in Qamishli, northern Syria. Daoud is the secretary general of the Kurdish Democratic Equality Party, an opposition party to PYD rule. The PYD has arrested & forced into exile multiple political opponents.

    Moscow always had the option to publicly transfer some Russian-manned AA systems to Syrian "control" and let them act more aggressively while denying involvement. Would create an extremely unpleasant gray zone for US/allied jets in the northeast, raise threshold for new strikes.

    Les frappes occidentales n'ont pas touché la base aérienne de Doumair, près de Damas, d'où a décollé l'hélicoptère syrien qui aurait attaqué à l'arme chimique Douma il y a une semaine. Plutôt surprenant. "C'est un choix", confie un proche d'E. Macron.

    Ce proche du PR ajoute: "c'était le sens de l'échange téléphonique jeudi entre Macron et Poutine: rappeler à ce dernier que la France souhaitait un retour rapide à la négociation politique" en vue d'une transition du pouvoir à Damas. Pas sûr que Moscou y soit très enclin.
