Forcibly mutilating the genitals of non-consenting babies with the mark of your religion is an egregious violation of the babies' religious freedom. It's an unconscionable human rights violation to permanently amputate functional genital tissue from innocent people. Shame on you.

Any religion that needs to mutilate the genitals of a helpless healthy baby, also needs to modernise. Stonings & slavery used to be acceptable. This is the 21st century. Many Jews choose Brit Shalom. No blood no mutilation. Iceland are dead right to protect the babies' rights.

The AAP is a trade body in whose financial interests it is to maintain totally unethical practice of non-medical male infant circ. The rest of the developed world's doctors do not peddle the myths nor do they need to repair botched circumcisions - which make more $$ for US docs.

I wonder what your opinion would be if you could see yourselves in an alternate universe where you weren't ritually mutilated as an innocent babe of 8 days. Is there a greater betrayal of love than intentionally causing or allowing needless pain on your defenseless child?

There is no medical benefit to cutting off part of a penis.

Make up your mind. Either religious freedom or medical benefits, but you can't use both together. Either the medical benefits are significant enough on their own or their are irrelevant.

Why are you against the circumcision ban in Iceland?

This isn't an attack on religion - religions can and should adapt to conform to basic human rights: You could replace the act with a symbolic ritual for newborns, then allow the child to make a consenting decision for themselves when they reach adulthood. #i2 #HisBosyHisChoice

NOthing in the Icelandic bill prevents a grown man from enduring a blood sacrifice if he chooses at an age capable of consent. By forcing it on an infant, you take away his religious and intimate freedom for life. With the Bris Shalom, there's no excuse to hurt children.
