i just realized this is the kind of shit Google's done to me many times. "hi, i found your resume and it's really impressive, we should talk about you working here!" [talks to them] "sorry, you aren't qualified for this position."
idk why companies tolerate recruiters/HR doing this. all it does is make them look bad and waste their money?!

please tell me you sent them an email snarking about being a maintainer. I know its unprofessional, but at that point, if they aren't looking enough to find that you do that, they don't deserve you.

my favorite part is that they contacted me first, specifically because i was the maintainer. then told me i don't have enough experience with the project... which i'm one of the maintainers of...
I just REALLY want to see what would happen if you emailed whoever sent that rejection with "Thank you for your time. I do hope that you find someone with more experience than the project maintainer. though I dont know if they exist."
Know how u feel. Usually when i miss out on a contract i can totally pwn, it's because i lack "enterprise" experience. As if building & running 600TB of storage & managing data & processing for the 2 largest hydro LIDAR surveys in the world was done in my mum's basement.
