      朝日新聞のABC予想報道に対する海外の反応が「論文投稿がPRIMS(所属機関の学術誌)で、編集委員長が著者自身ならば、利益相反の問題が発生する」というEdward Frenkle氏(@edfrenkel)のツイートを発生源に一斉にバッシングが広まった感があるが、そのような例は海外でもよくあることではないか。#IUTABC

      例えば数学の世界で最も権威のあるプリンストン大・プリンストン高等研究所のannals of mathematicsの編集委員会のメンバーも全員内部の数学者。もし彼ら編集委員がAnn.Mathに投稿するのは、利益相反とされてバッシングを受けるのだろうか？ #IUTABC

      具体的な例がある。Ann.mathの編集委員のGang Tianは、2009年当時、同誌編集委員でありながら、Ann.mathに投稿し論文が掲載されている。 http://annals.math.princeton.edu/2009/169-3  これはフレンケル(@edfrenkel)のいう利益相反にはならないのか？ (そもそもそんな事言い出せば編集委員は論文を発表し辛くなる) #IUTABC

      編集委員か編集委員長かなんて問題は関係ない。通常、どちらであろうが、その査読編集プロセスから投稿者は外され、編集委員、編集委員長を外されるからだ。(その代理の編集委員長が編集委員から選ばれる) 利益相反ではなく、「ただそれだけ」のことなのだ。Tianの場合も、Mochizukiの場合も。 #IUTABC
