Hello, my name is Niko, I am a Graduate Student of Linguistics in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I am looking for some help compiling transcripts using Quantitative Linguistics to produce a Corpus for a popular Anime. Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, Death Note… any of these animes will do, the main problem seems to be finding a complete list of transcripts in Japanese. I will then use these transcripts to compile a corpus, and use words of frequency to create a method in learning Japanese that will better aid the listening and understanding of Japanese Anime.

For that purpose, probably the best solution is to purchase their DVD/blue-lay and extract its subtitles/closed captions.

I appreciate that suggestion very much! Though I might not have the money to buy all that, I may choose a smaller anime, though my sample size will be significantly smaller, I will have some discussion with a few professors and other students over the course of this week to get some more ideas on the matter.

What is Anime Transcripts@アニメで英語?
Anime Transcripts@アニメで英語 is a volunteer-driven collection of anime transcripts in English and Japanese. Anyone with an interest in either anime or learning a new language is free to use this site as a resource. This project originates from a discussion on Futaba Channel where English language learners seek to improve their language skills while retaining their interests, specifically, anime. While there are cartoons such as The Simpsons, Futurama, and Family Guy that could also be used as potential language resources, the sophisticated dialogues can be daunting for novices of the English language, and the cultural contexts seen in these shows make it hard for those outside the Western world to relate to. Anime is useful in that it benefits both Japanese and English users with a relatable English and Japanese language resource that is within their interests.Anime Transcripts has an expanding list of English transcripts, but it's also encouraged that Japanese language learners also make Japanese transcripts if possible. All users are free to add more anime and expand on the existing anime listed on this site.
ここは、日本アニメの英語吹き替え版を使って、英語や日本語を勉強する人達のためのサイトです。
英語の勉強で一番大切であり、そして一番難しいことは、その学習を 継続 することです。しかし、英語学習用/英会話訓練用の教材では、すぐに飽きてしまう経験を何度もされているでしょう。そういう方でも、自分の大好きな映画や ドラマ、アニメなら何度でも繰り返して楽しむことができます。アニメが好きな人にとって、英語吹き替えされたアニメは、英語/英会話学習の非常によい教材 となります。登場人物になりきったシャドウイング(Shadowing)はもちろんのこと、ディクテーション(Dictation)によるスクリプト (Transcript/字幕)作成を支援することもリスニング力の向上に大きな効果があります。また、聞き取れなかった箇所や疑問点をDISCUSSION に挙げれば、するどい返事をもらえます。
アニメを楽しんでいるうちに、いつの間にか大きな英語の力を身につけていることでしょう。
英語初心者から、英会話は結構できるといった方、もちろんネイティブまで、どなたでも編集に参加することができます。編集手順については、まとめwiki編集入門 および ヘルプメニュー を参照してください。 また、スクリプト(字幕)を探して本サイトを訪れた方も、もし間違いを見付けた場合には、DISCUSSIONにコメントを残していただけると幸いです。
