The issue when I first quit my regular job (teaching) and started working freelance was that I didn’t know what I could offer (my degree was Japanese studies). It’s taken 6 years to figure out what we’re good at, get better at it, and build a good client base. Long way to go tho!
As a foreigner, Japan’s a great place for taking that risk and trying something you’re passionate about: can always go back to teaching if all else fails (and if teaching is your passion then it’s the perfect place
