Yes, Bill Nighy was great as the Character. But the Character was so underused by the movie series. Not even mentioned in ThBP.
Actually , he is mentioned in HBP when Slughorn asks Cormac about what his uncle Tiberius is doing to which he says that he and his uncle are about to go hunting with Scrimgeour in the holidays.
Not a notable mention though. Zero significant face time, especially when compared with the books, where he’s seen in a very significant scene.
Honestly, all the moments in all the books pre-Hogwarts and post-Dursleys are some of my favorite parts of all the books. Seeing Harry live a normal life in the Wizarding World has always been immensely satisfying for me. Even with the disturbing Riddle/Potter parallels.
It’s not necessarily one part, but all the different instances where Peeves’ hijinks take place in the background of whatever else is going on are great.

Let him take a pay cut, then sure. If he keeps producing when we need him to, then keep him around and evaluate options.

It’s pretty much constant, but usually just in the background. Every once in a while it gets obsessive, but I’m able to relegate it to background noise most of the time.
