Probably more often than we think. After all, we only saw the slave before her, and he's been a crime lord for years. He goes through slave girls like tissues, I bet, and he can't feed them ALL to the Rancor.

The expanded universe is no longer canon, sadly. Lucas himself declared anything other than the movies noncanon.

It was Disney, not Lucas. Lucas had a tier system that allowed anything that didn't directly interfere with the movies to be fair game. When Disney took control, they declared everything that wasn't the movies, The Old Republic (The MMO, not the old RPGs), 3D Clone Wars, and Rebels to be non-canon

It's for the best, ultimately. There was 30 years worth of stupid shit in there, and we needed breathing room for the new movies. Naturally, there were some casualties, but I'm positive that they'll work the more popular stuff back into canon. For example, an official art book for The Force Awakens says that Kylo Ren's armor and stuff was based after the "Scourge of Malachor", which hints at the existence of Darth Revan.
But yes, I am aware of the EU comic that Vorefreak mentioned. That was a delightful discovery, to be sure. Wonder why there isn't more art/prose on that?

It's only a couple of brief panels. It's from a comic called "The Dynasty Trap." You can probably find a scan or two of the page where he swallows the woman (Norba) on Google.

Jabba can talk and still be understood clearly with his entire tongue sticking out and grabbing someone, making him effectively incapable of using it for speech. Impressive. I guess that's why they call him "mighty."
