@mimei @SharlaInJapan @ciaela @RachelAndJun do you guys usually ask if you can film in places like stores or restaurants etc while in Japan (and Korea for the times when you go to Korea) or do you just kinda do it and it works out.
For places that require permission, yeah, but otherwise I think it comes down to common sense. There are ways to shoot in public without invading other people’s space and privacy. I try not to shoot strangers unless a public place/event and it’s part of the scenery.

Also, for shopping malls or event spaces, sometimes the size of your camera matters. For small digicams, and most dslr’s, they assume it’s for personal use and it’s okay, but camcorders or larger video cameras might be stopped by security or require a permit.
