I’m really hoping I’m wrong in saying this, but something is very off about the con and the way it’s being sold to the fandom at large.
I have very high suspicions about all this, after talking with Gabriel in person and then dealing with him and others online it’s a real mess and a push of powers.

Good intentions in the hands of certain people is as bad as bad intentions

The scary thing is, we don’t know his intentions. Joins fandom in May, goes to one con, gets “good feels”, and then decides to bring it all here. To, by his words, “do us a favor”

I won’t try to characterize the guy since I don’t know him, but the lines between well meaning missteps and dubious altruism are blurry. I sincerely hope the con goes well for the sake of the future of there ever being a regional fur con here in the future.
