So with all the BS floating around ANW I might as well give information to Stop certain rumors. When I was on staff last yr Gabriel said in person “the word Furry is blacklisted from Washington state conventions and Hotels.”

From what he told me the name furry was blacklisted, anything parading saying it’s a furcon or furry anything is out. Hence the push for the anthro name.
Tbh After attending ANW for the last 2 days. This has been an awesome event besides the usual teething issues. Gabriel put a lot of thought in to this event. We even got custom hotel key cards! All the panels have been great! The hotel staff have been very courteous helpful.

That’s great! I’m really happy ppl are enjoying themselves, that still doesn’t stop the fact that the staff and Gabriel are not handling things in a professional manner when your banning pp and deleting comments for just critiquing or asking questions.

Idk hazard the chat had become toxic and things were being blown out of proportion. Ppl stopped using it (my self included) for its intended purpose. At some point they were going to have to do something. So the chat could get back to being about the con.

How is that not about the con? Ppl have rights to ask and know, especially in a public “TRANSPARENT” environment. Whatever that means to them.

I would if my partner hadn’t been the first of Gabriel’s bans. I left on staff after he asked both of us to deliver PM we had after rude dealings with the staff and have him “be judged before the board.”

But like I said I’m very happy ppl are having a good time and that y’all are seeing friends! I’m not trying to rain on ppls con parades, I want a con in WA again more than anything. Doesn’t mean I can’t be skeptical of the person running it after personal dealings.
