The events he describes back in the 1980s simply did not occur, and I do not know why he has claimed them now. I have wracked my brain to ask if I remember Mr. Brunton, and I cannot say I do. /2

But I do take these claims very seriously, and I wanted to provide my response thoughtfully and not out of the moment. /3

Right now it is a he said / he said situation, over alleged events nearly 40 years ago. But those that know me understand that non-consensual acts are so antithetical to my values and my practices, the very idea that someone would accuse me of this is quite personally painful. /4

Brad, who is 100 percent beside me on this, as my life partner of more than 30 years and now my husband, stands fully by my side. I cannot tell you how vital it has been to have his unwavering support and love in these difficult times. /5

Thanks to many of you for all the kind words and trust. It means so much to us. Yours in gratitude, George /end

amazing that so many people in this thread assume that you are guilty and further assume that your denial makes you even guiltier. for something 40 years ago...
-
Just like Roy Moore, assume some more Georgie boy
-
Didn't Roy Moore have 4 people come forward with 30 different corroborations? How is this the same?

Uh huh ..... I'm assured.
-
We should believe that victim tho
-
Well that's the big problem here. There have been times where victims faked something like that. The best is to stay neutral for now and look how things progress.
-
I mean, it is Hollywood. People’ll do anything for attention, even make claims like this. It happens a lot but that doesn’t mean you should disregard a claim because the accused says it’s a lie.
-
No, it absolutely does not happen a lot. False accusations are extremely few and far between. Don't propagate that lie.
-
I studied law for a long time..... yes, they happen all the time. All...the....time.
-
Or let's put it another way. They don't in my country, the UK, and I don't see how it would be different in the US.
-
Oh it's wayyy different in the US lol my bad. Didn't realize. Ya, in the U.S. --- we love to sue people and take legal action for no fucking reason whatsoever except for Publicity advertising stunts, money, and hurting people's feelings.

Maybe this article from a DKos front-pager can shed some light on the situation. I believe you to be innocent,

It seems so convenient that you would be accused while you're away, and with
#RoyMooreChildMolester trending yesterday -
Something didn't seem right about the story, so I went and did a little research on it. The first two to report it were The Hollywood Reporter, FOX News and The Wrap. Coincidence? I think not

*three. I meant three Morning, everyone!
