Scientology and homosexuality

Post by dan1ecu » Fri Aug 20, 2004 6:58 pm

Greetings, All -

I remember from Dienetics (this was several years ago...) that homosexuality is the result of abuse. Auditing, supposedly, could "cure" a homosexual.

Does anyone know what is the church's current position on homosexuality? I would think that they'd have to accept it, as it is becoming more and more accepted in general. Does Scientology label homosexuals as "sick" or "abused?" Do they claim to be able to cure homosexuality?

Dan

When I was on staff: I, personally had to tell several homosexuals that they could not be actively practicing, and receive auditing or Academy level courses. That sure does seem strange, when if Dn indeed does cure homosexuality, you'd think scn would let them do whatever they want, because when on their 'miraculous' auditing, then they'd suddenly become straight, and it wouldn't matter anymore. lol.

When I was on staff I knew one guy. I was about 16 and he was dating my friend (a girl) who was 16. He was in his 20's. I had heard he was gay, but was told he was cured (auditing). He broke up with the friend and went back to his old ways. I was basically told that he was PTS and could no longer be on course.

When I was on staff another stafffriend had a sister that was lesbian. Her sister was at another town and org. But she said to me that she was getting auditing to handle the "abberration". I think that she later on got married to a guy, I don´t know how it worked out though. I know she told me that homosexuality was usually caused by beeing a different sex in a former life and somehow got stuck in that lifetime, and in this present lifetime felt as the "stucked" sex.

Ohhh it feels so good to be out of that asylum :)

Take care! :)

Hubbard was not very understanding or compassionate regarding homosexuals. One of his sons, Quentin, was apparently gay. Quentin committed suicide in 1975 in Los Vegas when he was eighteen years old. When Hubbard heard the news of Quentin's death, he supposedly went into a rage over the potential harm his suicide would do to scientology.

This seems to be one Scientology's stickier subjects (like it needed help in that area!). I knew of a staff member in the mid-ninties who was gay, but was also dying of AIDS. He died before his staff contract expired, but maybe they figured they could get whatever they could out of him before then, as I recall he WAS allowed on course (let's get those stats up!).

Then there is John Travolota, whom has been rumored to be gay, and it is further rumored that Scn is holding that over his head lest it damage his film career. Whether any of this is actually true, I cannot say. But if it is, it is certainly further evidence of their hypocrisy as it's "OK" to be gay, so long as you are a high-profile celeb who brings in money and good PR!

My experience was that a homosexual was allowed at a mission as long as they understood it was an abberration and didn't "do" anything in that area.

Then that same person went to an higher org and he was told that he was to get ethics training until he cognited that homosexuality is out-ethics.

He did the training, but did not have the cognition and was told to leave.

I heard the staff criticizing him a lot after he was gone and really dramatizing how they never want a homosexual around because they are so 1.1 (covertly hostile).

He then went back to the mission where they put him on staff. He quit staff in one week because they had lied to him.

Then they didn't like him either.

Until he had money for auditing, at which time they took in back in with open arms.

Until his money ran out.

Then they didn't like homosexuals either.

So I guess it's a matter of how much money the homosexual has to spend with them.

This could easily be moved to the "Contradictions" thread, as it is readily apparent that ANYONE without money is out-ethics. (And forgive my sick sense of humor once again, but it's the TECH that sucks!)

If scientology could handle a homosexual then why didn't it handle Quentin Hubbard? He was way up the bridge and very highly trained. Even Ron couldn't handle this!

I knew a homosexual from Texas that was on lines for nots at Flag. He was married and had a boy friend at the same time. I guess if you keep giving them money anything goes. It's that wonderful ethics at work again. The greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics or to be more accurate the greatest good for Ronnie boy.

I regged a couple of homosexuals in San Francisco and their main concern was that they didn't want to stop being homosexual.

I posted somethings about my experiences on another thread about this. But I understand that it is not good Nettiqette to repost the same thing on another thread. Oh well...

Well, regardless of whether they like Gay people or not I think it's fair to say that Hubbard and David Miscavige were in bed together and that union has caused the ruin of many good people. Now that Hubbard is gone we need to stop people from going to bed with David Miscavige, and I'm not sure how we are going to accomplish that. My chickens suggest that we tell everyone Hubbard had AIDS, and everytime we see David we act like we know he's got it. Vicious and slanderous little creatures those chickens, but then so is David.

I'll tackle it for you, Free... that is if you're still reading the thread. It is a *tad* old... If you take a look at this link http://www.lermanet.com/michaelpattinson/ , you'll find that Mr. Pattinson is openly homosexual, but SCN didn't mind a bit as long as he had the bucks to spend on his auditing. You'll also see that the fact he was gay was used openly (and cruelly) against him in situations. Of course, always for more $$
