Tony O wrote a fair and friendly obit* for Smurf, also known as Happy Smurf. For many years here Garry was an interesting, gossipy contributor, though I did listen when others warned he was not always truthful. He was helpful to me personally - when I was creating the Scientology Celebrity Spiderweb, I would private message him with a "who are the parents of..." and he would always know. He would also know or find new facts on many threads about a Scientologist, especially one from Los Angeles. He didn't fight me when I redacted phrases where he went too far, like home addresses or excess info about a child. He was like a bloodhound you couldn't quite control, but who would find the bad guy.

Some other posters would argue with Smurf, and I would stay out of it. I never met the LA Scientologist people and I never knew who had the right story. Smurf was cranky at times but earnest and keen to help most of the time. I would private message people who had a grudge against Smurf and say, yes, he did some bad things when he was in Scientology but "now he is 'Useful Smurf' on this message board and I am watching him carefully.

Smurf was treated horribly by some 4chan types on two other, now extinct or faded message boards. They tried coming here and I wouldn't let them fling the "f_g" word around. They sputtered that it wasn't meant in a bigoted way, and flounced off this site for good. Then on one of those sites one poster openly threatened Smurf with anal rape, using the f_g word. I wrote here that it was partly due to their casual use of the f_g slur - it was a green light to a few to get really bigoted. Those sites (surprise) also had posters (not all men) who used the c-word for women, so I stopped even reading those sites. I'm not going to read the still-existing site to see if the behavior has improved, so maybe it's streak of bigotry has gone away. So, I'm not going to name the message board.

Was watching Leah Remini's program with my husband this evening and we thought of our experience at the Buenaventura Scientology Mission in Ventura, California. We were curious what was going on with some of the people we knew there, did an online check and found that Jim Hamre, registrar at the mission, died a couple of months ago. Wondering if anyone knows anything about the circumstances. Apparently he died in Santa Maria, Calif. Had he left Scientology and moved to Santa Maria?

I've been reading lots and lots on this board, but have never posted until now. I just received a carefully wrapped magazine called FREEDOM. Even before unwrapping it I said to myself, "This is from the scientologists. Yup! Darn if it isn't one of the slickest propaganda pieces I've ever seen. If one didn't know about this organization, they would think it's the greatest thing since the founding of the republic.

Can anyone confirm whether they really did all these "good works" out of the goodness of their hearts? Also, did Hubbard really write the closing essay 31 years ago or more?

Oh and it came with an invite to visit the Scientology Information Center:

If indeed this is an accurate quote from a Scientology promotion, it implies that Scientology has taken a general anti-vaccination stand. Further to that it seems they agree that vaccination can cause autism. Is this the case or am I reading something into this that isn't there?

Autism is a physiological condition with which an autistic person is born and it is life long. Neither vaccination nor cleaning products nor anything else causes it. A person not born with the condition isn't going to become autistic. Don't take my word for it. Don't take the word of a person who is anti-vaccination. Don't take a Scientologist's word for it. Do your own research and make up your own mind. That's what I did.

Now, if it can be confirmed that Scientology has taken an anti-vaccination stand I would like to know that. In my opinion promoting to people that they should not be vaccinated or that their children should not be vaccinated is an extremely dangerous thing to do. Not vaccinating against polio and/or tetanus, to name two, can be deadly.

Earlier this year Nasty Nathanial, GI Jenny and I visited Twin Peaks. That's the cult base where LRH's words are stored on metal plates to survive WW III. Jenny took our photo while there.

Unfortunately the reporter posted it for me to fact check and I reposted his link before proofing. OOPS! MY MISTAKE. Nevertheless he fixed several errors ASAP: He confused Tony Ortega with AnonOrange and said Tony and I went to Twin Peaks together, Nasty Nathanial and Angry Thetan were not credited for their photos/videos. I wish we posted the story differently but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to convincing people to do a Sci story. Some outlets are still afraid. All errors were fixed within 24 hours. The story will be running FOREVER (this is the Internet after all).

Tony and I would never go to Twin Peaks together as we hate each other and, as an editorial desk guy, he does not have the balls to actually show up at a beat reporter location like this with even the slightest danger of arrest.

SO I emailed her on 09/25/2017 and she did not respond. I called her on 09/28 and she answered the phone sounding drugged and didn't want to talk. Was she drugged on chemo, or was this an act? I don't know.

ABOUT TWIN PEAKS LADY: She claims to be on chemo. She and I talked several times before the protest and then on the day of the protest. She arranged to come protest with us but, when the time came, she just drove up with a friend and dropped off a small, hand painted particle board sign for us to use. She was wearing a surgical face mask as she said she was concerned about germs. Many Anons used to wear those so it did not weird me out. The sign was totally useless for protesting as it was tiny. Nobody in a car driving by could see it. So we left it for the Sci's as a souvenir.

So now Tony is publicly accusing me of being harassing to an allegedly sick woman and not reporting true facts. The woman involved won't talk to me and neither will Tony.

But Nasty Nathanial, my intrepid assistant, heard us talk on the phone that day and saw her show up in the car. She had also contacted him via phone before the protest day.

NASTY NATHANIAL: This is very puzzling to me because I was there at the Scientology's Twin Peaks compound and I met the lady who claimed to have seen Shelly Miscavige in nearby Crestline. I had also communicated with her in the days leading up to our trip to Twin Peaks. She told me she knew who the Angry Gay Pope was and was a fan of his videos. I watched her pull up in a vehicle outside of the compound and hand Pope a protest sign. I don't know how she can claim she never met the Pope or that he harassed her. I seem to lean towards the belief that OSA bots got to her and that is why she is changing her story. They probably scared her. We've seen this before from OSA.

That is a very good angle.

IF she is truthful then OSA would almost surely go after her. She claims to have a lot of security and connections in the criminal justice system, but claims she is ill (they love that. Makes you weaker and an easier target.). Months have passed. Did they contact her and threaten her in the interim?

IF she is lying she still made a big PR stink about Shelly over nothing. They would go after her for that, too.

Either she is lying or Tony is lying. All three people's credibility is questioned and now I'm publicly accused by the main Sci protester of being some harassing monster. Yet no evidence has been presented to me or the public. Harassment/stalking is right out of the OSA playbook regarding what to accuse your enemies of. And note how Tony quickly devolved into obscenity and used words like "dude." With a BA in English I would never talk that way.

Worst of all, if she is lying that means the Shelly story is false, and that's sad.

I was burned recently for repeating a story about David Miscavige being thrown off of a plane. When the National Enquirer checked into for me they found no evidence of it (and they will run a story with FALSE evidence!)

I don't want to get burned again and have my credibility affected.

If Congress sticks with the life + 70 years copyright law, Disney will soon start to lose copyrights over its many properties. Books and films created in the 1920's can come into the public domain, and in another ten years books and films from the 1930's, and so on. Will Congress extend the law to life + 90 years? Let's hope not, because the Church of Scientology (CoS) faces copyright loss in about 39 years. There's not presently a Scientologist-ally in Congress like Sonny Bono, who in 1998 won the battle to extend copyright from life + 50 to life + 70 years. But Disney, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and others will likely lobby hard to extend their copyright monopolies.

Hubbard died in 1986, and 1986+70=2056, and he is supposedly "Source" with no later alterations considered "Tech." Therefore, a baby born this year to a Scientologist couple will see the loss of key Scientology book copyrights before the age of 40. Probably Scientology will be a dim memory to all but a few bitter-enders, and I would be VERY old by then. But I would enjoy seeing the CoS copyrights expire.
