Yuuko Amamiya, a mysterious girl dressed like a nun, and Yu Himura, a mysterious gentleman who is somehow attached to the church where Yuuko first appears, are having a reunion in a church during Christmas time. Despite her attire, Yuuko is not affiliated with the church. She always appears generally out of no where, and disappears just as quickly in various places throughout the story to talk with Hiro or other characters and give them advice.

Yes, it’s older, fantranslated version that joined both games into one. Later on, official, more polished, translation came out.

I installed this game at D directory and it works, I don’t have any problem about Music Voice BGM or SFX
There is no music on the main menu and for a few minute at the first of game, so keep playing for a while.
You can test sound in option menu, if it work, you shouldn’t have a problem

This game is just ef – the first tale and ef – the latter tale combined into one, right? So why are the downloads for the other two games on this site so large compared to this one? Did the Mangagamer versions add something?
If you are having problems with the voices, apart from suggestions by other people in this page, try putting ur Ef directory directly under the C drive (C:\ef)

From what I remember, this one isn’t an image – just extract it and run installer.
The game freeze after the 2. tale, so i cant get to the 3. and 4.
Its wierd, the game is otervise fine, but after the 2. part there is a movie that i can’t see, its black, i only hear music, then it freeze.

For those with “no music” issues, I’ll reiterate what someone has already said:
There is no music in the menu or during the first few minutes of the game. If you can hear the test music in options, you’ll likely hear music where you’re supposed to.
Download and installation worked without any problems and the game itself runs just fine, even with music, however I have one issue that makes it unplayable to some degree.
Right from the beginning there is some pretty loud background noise/static looping 2-3 times a second which is very very annoying. Fiddling around with the audio options didn’t help in any way and i cant figure out the source of the noise. I am running Windows 7 with CCCP and (perhaps thats the reason) a Asus Xonar DX sound card.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I would really appreciate some help here as i was really looking forward to the game and everything else i downloaded works just fine. So on that note, big thanks to the Admin here
For those with the no music issues… Assuming that the game is a disc image once extracted (I don’t know becuz I haven’t downloaded it) but if it is after you’ve installed explore the disc and find the file for the BGM and manually copy it to the game directory to see if it fixes it. I had a similar no music issue with another game and doing this fixed the problem

Well, I think you’d still need CCCP for audio issues. But if you’re willing to wait (as I am), wait for the official release from Mangagamer. Its very close (from a reputable source)

It said when I installed it didn’t detect ffdshow on my computer, but I definitely am using it, well I’m using the MadVR codec with MPC-HC, which is ffdshow-based. I should be right for the sequences in this right, because I didn’t see any “video” when I started a new game.

YES!! I finally figured out why the game kept crashing halfway through – right the end of Kei arc. For those who have MPC HC and LAV filters, you need to go back and reinstall ffdshow, or the game will crash when it tries to play the movie.
Just in case anyone else was getting very frustrated like i was. now..on to the latter tale

If like me you’re on Win 7 64 bits, the sound problem can be fixed by moving the ef folder from Programe Files x86. Apparently, DirectSound problems can appear if it’s not directly in C:\
I don’t know why though nor I know if it’ll work with another OS.

I was playing on a mac on bootcamp before. When i tried to play it on the mac via parallel desktop the sound was there.

I have a problem. The first time I ran it there weren’t any problems, but after that day there was no voice!! Can anybody help me?? Oh, and I didn’t press any of the buttons in the configuration as well. I even tried reinstalling it, but it didn’t work.
You have to delete the folder named ef, that contains the game files before you reinstall it.
I did that, but it still doesn’t work. I even deleted the ef folder in the appdata as well.
Same problem. Been messing around a bit with different uninstalling tools, but no luck so far. I’m guessing some archives still remain in the system, even after I manually delete the game’s folder, hence, the problem keeping on even after reintalling.
The first time you played it did you have sound? The problem must be with the pc, not with the files, everyone is installing the same files. Install the k-lite codec pack if you don’t have it (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_mega_codec_pack.htm), it might help with the sound.
I tried installing the files on the link you had, but there is still no sound. To answer your question, I did have sound when I first installed it, but the sound vanished the next day.

If you go now at the configuration what does it say? I know you didn’t press any buttons. At the voices area there are some boxes that say mute, are they checked or unchecked and what about tne volume level? Did you go at the configuration before you close the game? Because there is an area there that says if you change something here you will lose the voices, maybe something changed there by accident before you close the game?
I know how to read. I didn’t change the are about the voices, but I did change the volume levels for BGM, voices, and Sound effects. I never muted the sounds either.

You have to delete the file that is named ef and contains all the game files, then you will be able to reinstall it.

Hey on the first choice there appears two choices with some letters not english, japanese, or russian. What does these characters mean? One is a box, another like a sun giving light next to a triangle, a couple of circles, one little another big… what’s that language? Help!
There are no strange letters: you should set japanese localization language on your pc.
First choice is “Continue talking”; second one is “Follow Miyamura”.

soo… i just finished this game this morning (after finally submerging my urge to kill this guy on the grounds that it’s physicall impossible to kill a game character..) and i noticed that even though i finished it, and then just in case, finished all the bad endings…. there was no extra/recall/etc option in the main menu…. is this normal or was there something wrong with my game?

I have no idea about japanese version, since i only deal with english translated ones, but i think this fandisk will be translated as a part of minori and NNL deal of official english ef release.

I upload only translated games – fandisk is not translated ( but it probably will be – as an official mangagamers release – once i get it, you will find it here )

That error is caused by NNL’s “auto-update” feature – this is fan translation, but recently people responsible for it came to agreement with game producer and ef will recieve official english version – as a result NNL removed auto-update scripts from their server. You can ignore it, since it doesn’t affect gameplay, or you can install the game again, but this time uncheck “auto-update” box during installation.

I discovered the reason many of you are having issues after you get the game installed at various points in the game.
This game requires you to install a x264 codec on your system. Oddly enough the codec isn’t used for all media. It doesn’t kick in to around chapter 3 where the first video is played. Also some of the background music (but NOT all) appears to be x264 compressed.
Also if you have any codec packs installed that might fudge it up as well. The “shark codec settings manager” helped me get things going.

Recently installed this with no problems. But I when I started playing it again the next day I skipped a part and then there was no sound. So I thought maybe if I uninstalled and reinstalled it would work fine but it hasn’t worked.

I played till the end of chapter 3 (Chihiro/Renji), but now the game always crashes at the same point.
The scene where Yuuko meets Miki. Last i can read is “However, this was certainly the beginning”. After this the game simply shuts down.

Try to run setup as administrator, if it won’t help then maybe it’s some problem with multi-threaded installer – try to run it disabling all cpu cores, but one.
If this won’t help then you can try disabling your antivirus, or maybe opposite – maybe some virus is corrupting installation files.
If all of this won’t help then i have no idea – as I said – installation runs without problems for everyone i know.
