Unsure what to think when someone lowkey brags about being so fluent but then says a phone call was a big accomplishment.

... being difficult to navigate. They're not easy and are quite a step up from in-person. It was just a major eye roll moment for me.

It would not say it way a great accomplishment but I was relieved after it was over and it was just calling tokyo gas about a minor thing.

For me doing my first phone call in Japanese was a really big thing too. I could talk somewhat fluently in person but the phone was scary.
